12 Week Fitness Program

Share

I started a 12 week fitness program last Saturday.  Yes, I want to get healthier, but my main motivation is to get my diet on track.  I like food; any kind of food.  I’m not fussy.  My mother used to say, “Dave will eat anything that isn’t painted!”   Yes, it’s true, I’ll eat things no one else on the planet will eat … for instance – I’m the only person who will eat … MY COOKING!

Yes, it’s that bad.

The 12 week challenge comes equipped with something I desperately require.  Something that I’ve needed for a long time.  Something my body has been begging me for …

A MEAL PLAN!

Since last Saturday when the program started, I’ve been following the meal plan; eating healthy.  I’ve learned important skills.  Skills long forgotten … like how to cook hard boiled eggs.  My daughter MC taught me.  It’s not difficult.  And, I’ve learned, hard boiled eggs are healthy.  They have to be … they’re on the meal plan!

I’ve also learned how to cook broccoli and bok choy.  And, I make a mean porridge now.  A couple scoops of protein power on top and – LOOK OUT – healthy and it tastes good too!

None of the meals I’ve prepared so far look appetizing, but they’ve all tasted good.  At least I thought they tasted good.  I haven’t asked for a second opinion; I’m not brave enough to ask (I don’t want to know the truth!)  I’ll work on presentation later … promise.

Well, it’s back to the kitchen … now, how do you cook a sweet potato?
