How to Publish a Kindle Book

Share

Earlier this month I became a book publisher.

This is truly amazing since I don’t know the first thing about publishing.

But, luckily publishing skills are not required these days.  Not since Kindle Direct Publishing came along!

With Kindle, the playing field is leveled – anyone can publish a book now.

So, how do you publish a Kindle Book?

Just use the 3 step formula as follows:

1.  Write your book.

This should be the fun part!  You’ve got a book in you – now let it out!  Want some more good news?  Ok … your book can be virtually any length.  I’ve seen some books available on Kindle that are only 20 pages!  More good news – you’re the author, you’re the publisher, you’re the boss – you decide virtually everything about the book.  You decide the length.  You decide

the title, the cover design, the content, the chapter order, the plot.  You’re in charge of the total project.

Type your book in Microsoft Word … it’ll make things easier.

NOTE:  I would also recommend you read the Kindle Direct Publishing Simplified Formatting Guide before you start typing as it’ll save you some time later.  But, in the end, it doesn’t really matter – write the book!  That’s the first priority.

2.  Go to Kindle Direct Publishing and open an account.

3.  Login to your newly created Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) account and follow the easy instructions for getting your book published.

Welcome to the world of on-line Kindle book publishing!

Will this formula work?

Yes.

How do I know?

Because it’s what I used to publish my first Kindle book earlier this month!  Book is titled, Working my BUT off!  Reflections of a Property Investor.

Go forth and publish!  The world is waiting to hear your story …

    1. Thanks for your inspiring words! I wrote the article myself and it is not a paid topic. I just wanted to let everyone know the gates are all down … you can now publish your own book – no one can stop you! Go for it!
