I goofed; Print book out now; Kindle later

The kindle version of my new book Yanks in the Outback: A story of Woomera, South Australia, the Joint Defense Facility Nurrungar (JDFN) and the First Gulf War is scheduled for publishing on 23 June 2015; my 55th birthday.  Not sure why I picked this date, but I did.

But, my print version of the book has a different publish date.  Why?  Because I goofed.

While creating the print version, I hit the “approve” button.  I thought the approve button meant “approve.”  Well, it turns out the “approve” button on the createspace.com book publishing website is more powerful than that.

I figured the next message I’d see would be something like, “Glad you have approved your book, when would you like to publish it?”

But, that’s not the message I got.  Instead I got a much more exciting announcement, “Congratulations, your book is published and will be available on amazon.com shortly.”

Does the phrase, “OOPS” mean anything to you?

After thinking about it for a moment, I decided it’s ok.  Doesn’t matter.  Print book out now; kindle out later.  100 years from now, will it matter?  10 minutes from now … will it matter?

So, there you have it.  My new book print version is out now.

You’ll have to wait a few more weeks to get your hands on the kindle version.
