Inspiration from a “Corporate Escapee”

Share

I like the term “corporate escapee.”

I like it because it congers up a very powerful image.   The image of a person working day in and day out to find a way out of the rat-race.  Just like the prisoner who digs an escape tunnel – just a little each day – until finally, he walks to freedom.

Then everyone sits around scratching their heads saying, “He did it!  He really did it.  We laughed at him, but he continued to dig and now he’s free.”

Those same people haven’t even started digging their tunnels.  Those same people go back to their cells wishing and hoping someone will rescue them from their corporate prison.

But, no one’s coming for them.  They have to start digging their escape tunnel if they want to get out.

But, that’s too hard for most of them, so they don’t.  So, they just continue on with their lives as “Corporate Prisoners.”  And, that’s how free choice works.  Some choose freedom, others don’t.

Anyway, I was looking for something to write about and Corbett Barr gave me the inspiration; the idea, I needed.

You see, Corbett is a corporate escapee.

The idea came from his article titled, “It’s time to step up a notch.”

The article comes with a warning:  “This might be painful to hear.”

How could I not read the article after seeing that warning?  I had to read it.  What does he mean by “painful to hear?”  I gotta read this to find out.

He didn’t disappoint.

Was it painful to hear?

Not really, but it was a sorely needed reminder for me.  You see a lot of the things he mentions sounded familiar to me.  I’d heard them before.  Then at the end of the article it all came clear …

If any of this post sounds familiar, it’s probably because I’m reading Think and Grow Rich for the first time. Definitely check out this classic on success principles from Napoleon Hill.

Think and Grow Rich … one of the greatest books I’ve every read.  I’ve read it three times.  I need to read it again.

So, thanks Corbett for giving me the idea; the inspiration for my article today.

This is it, my article …

If you’re serious about getting the life you’ve always dreamed of then my recommendation for today is twofold:

First, have a read of Corbett’s article, It’s time to step up a notch which is really just a book review of Think and Grow Rich.

Next, read Think and Grow Rich.

Then just do what the book says.

Then enjoy the heck out of your life.

Hell yes! And I’m proud to be a corporate escapee. Escaping the corporate life takes some serious effort, but I can’t imagine living any other way now.

Thanks for the shout out, and I agree about the book. It’s a great read. Cheers Dave!

    1. And, thanks for your encouragement. I’m reading your amazing ebook, “18 months, 2 blogs, 6 figures” again. Picking up some great tips I missed the first time.
