Richard Branson and the carbon tax?

Any carbon tax with that?

What does Richard Branson have to do with the carbon tax in Australia?

Well, first of all, he may be one of the few paying it.  You see, Virgin airlines may be on the “top 500 polluters” list and therefore may be subject to the tax.

But, as usual, Richard Branson is preparing.  He’s ahead of the curve.  He’s anticipating the changing business playing field and getting his team ready to win.

How so?

Well, it looks like Richard has found a way to cut his Virgin Airlines carbon footprint in half.  This means any associated carbon tax bill will be cut in half as well.

Not only a very smart business move, but a smart environmental move as well.

Have you caught on to my bias yet?  I like this guy.

And, he’s given me more reason to like him with his latest venture;  low carbon fuel.

What are we doing here in Australia about reducing carbon emissions?  What technologies are we developing?  Are we looking down the track at the emerging business playing field to see how solving the carbon pollution problem may be a hidden gold mine?

Looks like Richard Branson is not only looking, but he’s taking action; positive, value adding, problem solving, action.

Go Richard!
