Pick your favorite reason then read the book.

There are probably hundreds of good reasons to read Jordan Peterson’s book ‘12 Rules for Life,’ but you only need one. I’ve come up with twelve of them. I figure 12 rules, 12 reasons, nice parallel. You can pick your favorite from my list or come up with your own; doesn’t matter as long as you read the book.

Twelve: “Dare to be dangerous … The forces of tyranny expand inexorably to fill the space made available for their existence.” If you want to stand up to bullies, read the book.

Eleven: “You should take care of, help and be good to yourself the same way you would take care of, help and be good to someone you loved and valued.” If you want to treat yourself better, read the book.

Ten: “It’s appropriate and praiseworthy to associate with people who’s lives would be improved if they saw your life improve.” If you’re looking for a better set of friends, read the book.

Nine: “Attend to the day, but aim at the highest good … to journey happily may well be better than to arrive successfully … ” If you want your life to be more adventurous, read the book.

Eight: “It is the primary duty of parents to make their children socially desirable.” If you want a better life for your children, read the book.
